for a friend. it's a bit simplistic and sloppy because i can't use painter at the moment, and i don't have the patience to blend things smoothly in photoshop. i kind of like the bright colors and cel shading, though.
originally, i was going to tone the colors of the bird down somewhat, but my friends insisted that i leave them as is, to keep the picture looking as bright and cheery as possible.

... I think you're being way too hard on yourself with the "simplistic and sloppy" comments... as a whole, this stands on its own as a very striking piece that's so full of life-- the composition and color choices have this great uplifting mood to them...
