firstly: thanks so much to everyone who visited me at AX, you guys were all amazingly kind! i had a great time in LA and i hope i'll be able to come back next year!

secondly: my best friend's dog, hunter, is definitely one of the sweetest dogs i've ever met -- and yesterday, he was nailed by a hit and run driver. he survived, but is going through a lot of surgery, and his family has set up a fund to help pay for the vet bills. to help them out, i'm auctioning a commission; all of the money will go straight to helping him get better.

to read more about hunter or to donate to his family directly, please check out his "get better hunter" page on facebook. even if you can only give a dollar, every bit helps!

thanks you guys, i mean it!

Congrats on the winning bid! When I saw it I was like "Wow *O*" It's sweet of you to go out of your way to help your friend's dog <3 He's lucky to have people who care about him!

Oh my gosh, that's terrible... Hit and run drivers; pisses me off that people don't take responsibility for their actions. It happens more often than I'd like... ~_~
Best of wishes to Hunter. :( He's got a strong will, that one.
I can't really bid higher than the commission is going, but glad to know there's still a way to help, through that paypal link.

Hunter is adorable! I'm sorry to hear about the accident and I'm glad he came through from it. ;_;

It's really nice of you to help your friend out (I know if one of my dogs were in that situation I would be devastated and having that support would help a lot). I hope everything works out for poor Hunter and his family. :)

Oh no! That's horrible. My first dog, a boarder collie, was hit right in front of me as a child; both the front and back tire went over her, the lady sped off as well- I couldn't believe my dog lived and with no long term damage (and for at least another 14 years to boot. She lived to be 18) I hope you have an equally good outcome with Hunter- He's so pretty.. this is mortifying. (I have a husky too; I can only donate a few bucks, *broke*) Watching the video you posted... I realized I learned something then too- Not that there's always a chance, or time, for this though but.. if there is: when my dogs got out after that, if I ran the way I'd rather have them to go, instead of following them, and made it sound like (by making an overly-happy sounding fool of myself) I just found the most awesome thing ever and was going after it (including cookies, squirrels, and a car ride all at once) they would start running after me like it was happy-fun-wild-dog-time and that made it really easy to nab them. I use the trick on strangers dogs too. I've saved maybe 4 from the middle of roads with it.. :( when it's possible X(

oh god, i'm sorry to hear that happened to you and your dog once ;; i know it was a long time ago, but...i can't imagine that being an experience you'd ever forget...i'm actually too big a wuss to look at the video of hunter being hit, i was petting that big kind dog just a couple weeks ago and i can't watch that happening to him >_< no animal deserves to go through such a thing...

thank you so much though, it's definitely appreciated!

Keeping an eye on that commission! If I can get it in a good price range, I'm all over it :plotting:
